Halloween

So, I know I put up a lot of dog pictures on my blog. But I'm going to keep doing that. I have to share some photos from Waggs' Halloween parties! She was invited to two different parties! I was invited to none. Go figure... Anyway, her first one she attended was at "For the Dogs" in Zionsville (right next to Indy). There were about 15-20 dogs there. Everyone was dressed up. It was sponser by a local pet store so the prizes were pretty cool. Surprisingly Waggs didn't win in any of the catagories...it must have been rigged. But there was a local Fox news camera there and she was on tv that night! She was a movie star! Waggs decided to dress up as a ferocious dragon. Her costume was green with yellow spots and yellow spikes. She didn't mind it too much actually. She came home with tons of trick-or-treat goodies! There's still stuff in the freezer and closet. The next week she went to another Halloween party at "Club Canine" located in Carmel (also right next to Indy). This is her regular daycare. There were also about 15-20 dogs there. We made some special doggy treats for her to take to this one. The dogs seemed to like them. It must have been the chicken liver mixed in there... Now she did win a prize as this party. She one first place for scariest costume. Ohhh! She won a free day of doggy daycare. Not too shabby! Well, that was it. A couple weeks before Halloween Zach and I did go to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin. We carved it the night before Halloween. Zach wanted to carve the face to look like a "slow in learning" pumkin. It's pretty cute actually. Well, until next time...

A lot of new news!

A lot has been going on since I last wrote in October. The holidays were good. Got too full on Turkey Day (as usual) since I went to Zach's family and my family to eat. But it was all yummy. It was Waggs' first Turkey Day. Right after Turkey Day Zach and I moved into a new apartment complex in Indianapolis. It's much nicer and in a great location. We still have to deal with the usually "apartment type" people, but until we get a house I guess that's something we'll just have to deal with. The furry kids seem to like the new apartment pretty good. It's 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms and (drum roll please) we have our own full size washer and dryer in our apartment! It's great! No more gross laundry mats. The second week of December Zach and I went on our vacation. We took a cruise to the Caribbean! I got a great deal on it (since I'm a groovy travel agent and everything) so we decided to go. The ship took off from Ft. Lauderdale and we decided to fly down a day sooner (I was paranoid about missing the boat). We spent the night at the Hyatt (for free!) and then we were on our Princess balcony room the next afternoon. Zach got a little (okay, a lot) sea sick for the first 2 days. Then he took a visit to the medical ward and got some drugs and he started feeling just fine! A couple days later while on the cruise...Zach asked me to marry him! I wonder if it was the drugs... Anyway, I said yes! We're both very excited and the furry kids are finally glad that they are not just "love children" in our relationship. Then was Christmas...which is when we found out that Bob and Allison are getting married! So exciting! Then was my birthday (lots of fun). They was Valentine's day. And now it's almost April. Time goes by so fast. Hopefully, I'll be keeping this up-to-date a little better. Well, that's it for now.

Waggs is growing up (almost 4 months)

Waggs sure is growing up fast! She's still in puppy class and is doing very well. She knows sit and lay down. She's also doing pretty good with stay, come and loose leash walking. She's so smart!

Waggs

I thought I'd share some pictures of my new puppy dog! Her name is Waggs and she's only 2 1/2 months old. She's already been spayed and she will be starting Polite Puppy classes at the Humane Society in a couple weeks. I brought her to South Bend a couple days ago and her and Trixie played together. It took a little bit for Trixie to get used to Waggs but they ended up getting along in the end. I'll post more pictures later.

Mall of America

Mom, Laura, Hannah and I went to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota for Hannah's Spring Break. It was a lot of fun! We stayed at a really nice hotel too. It was a Marriott Residence and it was huge...just like the mall! It took us 3 whole days to get through the mall. We spent a day on each floor. And we needed it too. We arrived at the mall at 10:00 and usually left around 8:00. We bought lots of things at really good prices too! My favorite stores were Marshalls (a discount store with name brand things that were super cheap) and Archivers (a scrapbook store). At the end of our mall experience we all got manicures and pedicures (to help our ailing feet). I espcially had a good time with my family. It was nice to get all the girls together and spend some time with each other. I think it meant a lot to everyone. I don't think the boys would have appreciated all the shopping anyway. :-) Although they did have a nap store and a Nascar store that might have been useful if they guys would have come along. :-) We should definatley do it again though. Pretty soon I'll start getting travel discounts so I'm sure we can go to another groovy destination!

Cake, Yum-o

As Rachael Ray would say, "Yum-o!" Here is another cake I made after my third Wilton cake decorating class. This time I put frosting and coconut in the middle. At the end of this class we learned how to make the famous Wilton rose. I've included a picture of the first rose I ever made. Isn't it cute? It was yummy too! I only have one more class. I'll have to take the next couse later. Are these cakes possibly new ideas for holiday gift?

Wilton St. Patrick's Day Cake

Here is the first cake I made from the Wilton cake decorating class. I filled the middle of the cake with apricot preserves. It was yum-o. I thought I'd go with the St. Patrick's Day theme since it was right around that time.

Groovy Afghan

Hello everyone! I completed another project. I just got done with crocheting an afghan. I started it after Christmas and I just got done, but it didn't really take a whole 3 months, because there were a couple times when I hadn't worked on it for a while. But I'm done with it so I thought I'd show everyone. I'm excited because I just signed up for a Wilton cake decorating class at Michael's. It's for 4 Tuesday nights in March. Maybe I'll make some yummy cake for everyone during our next family event.

Things here in Indy are going good. I'm really happy with the job. It's a lot of work but it's definately not as stressful as my last job. And most importantly I actually work with a lot of smart people at this place. Most of the people at the animal hospital were pretty dumb. So, it's pretty refreshing to work with intellegent people. Zach is really liking his job too. For the same reason I am-smart people. Sushi is doing good down here too. She has a big patio window to watch out during the day time. Floppsie and Moppsie are doing good. They're still hopping along. It's almost thier time of year-Easter.
